Schools in the Parks
'a professional development website for environmental educators'
The Schools in the Parks project ran from 2008 to 2011 and supported secondary schools in South East London make use of their local parks and open spaces for learning. With the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, Natural England and Lambeth Council thousands of students were able to get out of the classroom and learn in their local parks.
A training programme was developed to run alongside this school engagement; helping to promote good teaching skills amongst environmental educators. Creating a confident and skilled network of local experts who could provide appropriate support for schools who wanted to use their local parks for learning. It is this training programme that has been adapted to form part of this website.
